You will start your equestrian journey with individual beginner sessions until you have mastered some basic skills, control and confidence. In these sessions you will also learn how to catch, groom, pick out feet, saddle, unsaddle, wash off and rug. A Parent. must be happy to assist. Your ridden sessions will start you off learning the basics, gaining confidence and familiarity on the horse.
You will need your own helmet or you can borrow one from us no charge) and appropriate footwear, riding boots best but you can wear your trainers for the first ride if nec, no fashion boots please.
All beginners start with some individual 1 hour combined stable management & riding sessions ($85) before joining a group session.
We have group lessons most afternoons after school and weekends. Groups vary in skill level and ability. All riders are required to arrive early enough to catch and saddle their own horse and put them away after riding - help is always available where needed and parents are encouraged to assist where necessary. Once you are allocated a space in a group we routinely book you in every week and require 24hours notice if you need to cancel. Group lessons do a variety of flatwork, jumping, sporting, fun and general educational exercise to improve both the horse and rider.
We offer individual sessions, either with or without your own horse. These lessons are available subject to space available and are great if you are wanting to work on something specific, are nervous riding with others or simply want a more intensive lesson. You will be required to arrive early to saddle etc too.
All new riders must have an initial assessment lesson before being permitted to join a group lesson, this is for safety so we can determine your skill level and allocate you a suitable horse.
